Boston Red Sox s rotation might not be fully healthy
  • The Boston Red Sox s rotation might not be fully healthy again after all.

Red Sox manager  Stephen Vogt Jersey John Farrell said Friday before Boston s game against the Oakland Athletics that Steven Wright might against the Padres in San Diego with lingering discomfort in his throwing shoulder. The knuckleballer injured his shoulder on Aug. 7 while pinch running in an interleague game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Wright missed three starts with the injury, and in two outings since then, he hasn t been effective. The right hander allowed five earned runs over six innings on Aug. 27 and four earned runs over four innings in his last start against the Tampa Bay Rays. Wright also gave up two home runs in each of those outings.

It s worth noting that Wright was struggling before the injury, too , as he posted a 6.23 ERA in July.

The Red Sox will see how Wright s shoulder progresses or so before making a decision, CSNNE s Sean McAdam reported Friday.
